Apple has just released the highly anticipated iPhone 17 series, which includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and the brand new iPhone Air! The Geekbench scores have come in, and this generation truly impresses!

Let’s start with the entry-level iPhone 17. It’s equipped with the A19 chip, achieving a single-core score of 3608 and a multi-core score of 8810. Compared to the previous generation’s A18 chip in iPhone 16, this shows an approximately 8% to 10% boost in single-core performance and nearly 10% in multi-core performance.

The newcomer iPhone Air is also eye-catching, featuring the A19 Pro processor, identical to the Pro series but with one less GPU core. It scores 3674 in single core, 8824 in multi-core, and boasts a Metal GPU score of 37743. Importantly, it comes with a standard 12GB RAM, making it powerful enough for gaming and video editing!

Finally, we have the stars of the show, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. Both models use the A19 Pro, with single-core scores of 3523 and a staggering multi-core score of 9028. The GPU score reaches 44342, 17% higher than the Air, and about 32% better than the iPhone 16 Pro. The Pro Max takes the crown with a single-core score of 3781, a multi-core score of 9679, and an incredible Metal GPU score of 45657, showing a 40% increase compared to the iPhone 16 Pro Max! Apple emphasizes that the new A19 Pro, combined with a redesigned cooling system, allows these devices to operate efficiently for extended periods, whether gaming, video editing, or utilizing AI applications.

In summary, while the CPU performance boost in the iPhone 17 series isn’t explosive, the GPU improvements are noticeable. If you’re a heavy mobile gamer or video editor, the new devices will definitely keep up. Apple has announced that pre-orders will officially open this Friday, and you’ll be able to purchase them in stores next week.
