Their parent company reported a revenue of $329 million in the first half of 2024, with a net profit exceeding $62 million—absolutely incredible. That’s not all, as FTMO also generously announced that they have distributed over $450 million in bonuses to traders worldwide since its inception, and their workforce has now grown to around 300 people. What started as a small student team in Prague has transformed into a powerful global company!
Founders Otakar Šuffner and Marek Vašíček were once just students at the University of Economics in Prague, and in less than a decade, they have turned FTMO into a representative of the industry. Currently, there are over 2.3 million active trading accounts, a 33% increase from the same time last year! Moreover, the bonuses paid to traders from January to July this year spiked by 80% compared to last year. Šuffner himself stated that FTMO is not only a top player in the field but has also created a “whole new industry.”
As the company continues to grow, its market expansion is also on the rise. Notably, FTMO has re-entered the U.S. market, becoming the only platform that allows U.S. traders to use MetaTrader 5 (MT5) for trading. This means that U.S. users can once again participate in FTMO’s challenges using the familiar MT5 interface, which is great news for many traders. Incidentally, while competitor The5ers has also returned to the U.S., they operate on a different platform.
It’s worth noting that over the past few years, FTMO has achieved record-breaking profits almost annually. For instance, in 2023, revenue reached approximately $213 million, a 20% increase from the previous year. FTMO’s explosive growth has been featured in Forbes, highlighting it as one of the rare tech firms in Central Europe capable of achieving consistent revenue surges over several years. This has also earned them several Deloitte Fast 50 awards, making their presence known globally.
